Yes, it's huge! It didn't make it through to the list (due to its size) but I 
have it.

It looks like you aren't running brltty as root. Please give that a try.

For the benefit of the curious, the permission failures include devices under 
/dev/usb/bus/ as well as the /dev/vcsa* devices.
