[BRLTTY] Using Brltty for Android without TalkBack

Hello all,

Although I have been using Android since March of 2015, I am very new to
the Brltty app and to this list, so I hope that I am asking this question
in the right place.

Yesterday I installed the Brltty app for Android. I have a BraillePen 12
Touch display from a company called Harpo. Although Brltty does not have
the drivers for this particular display, I was able to pair it using the
auto-detect function. However I don't know any of the commands to go to the
previous and next item, jump to top or to bottom of the screen etc. I have
a faulty joystick on my display, and I can't seem to get it into the down
position for some reason, and even when I flick it to the left or to the
right, it does not go to the previous or next item. Thus, I have difficulty
reading through apps such as the Play Store and AquaMail, which is the app
that I use to read my emails. I tried using Dots 1 chord through Dot 6
chord individually to move forward or backwards one item at a time, but
they didn't seem to be consistent. I tried reading the blurb on the Brltty
website on Using Brltty for Android, and there doesn't seem to be any
specific documentation to clarify this. I would like to suspend TalkBack
and use Brltty without having to depend on TalkBack to navigate and read
the screen from top to bottom. Perhaps there is something that I am not
doing correctly? In the Brltty actions menu, when I go to read the user
guide, Brltty crashes, and I get that all too familiar message:
"Unfortunately, Brltty has stopped." Running Brltty on an RCA Viking Pro
tablet running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Could anyone on the list please send me a copy of the user guide for Brltty
for Android off list? Does Brltty have a list of Braille keyboard shortcuts
for navigating?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Kind regards,

Siena.
