Well I have to give up on 5.6 I guess; can't make it work. I have not compiled many programs as I always used apt-get. The configure, make and make install all go well, but when I start 5.6 as root I hale no braille. 5.3.1 works great so I just apt-got it back. After make install is there something else that needs to be done?
