That shouldn't matter. What matters more is if you've installed the packages
for the brltty features that you'd like to have. This also includes the
developer packages for the features. In Ubuntu, they're names are usually
suffixed with -dev.

That should be fine. With those (the .tar.* archives), you don't need to run
autogen. Just configure, and then make.
