We first need to find out if the keyboard is working. Even if input isn't working, do chords, e.g. Space+h for help, work?
If the keyboard itself isn't working then, as I think I remember, it may be due to a setting within the device's own internal menu.
If the keyboard is working but input isn't then it could be due to a brltty setting. If chords work then try Space + dots 1,3,8 to enable braille keyboard input. You can also find this setting within the Braille Typing submenu.
If none of these work then we may need to start looking at logs. Support for the X models was introduced around 6.4 so perhaps some lingering problems were resolved in a later release.
