[BRLTTY] brltty 6.7 on rpi4

I have four machines involved in this mess: linux desktop, rpi4, focus 40 and bs6.
The bs6 was used to do editing and reading. I find it much easier to read and edit stuff on the bs6.
But it is the bs6 that has the name problem.  It seems to be configured correctly, so I don't know how to fix it.
I will try a reboot of course. 
I will try not to use the bs6 any more for our emails.  But Idon't have a working email program on either linux machine, so I have to use the ipad.
Using sftp to move the files back and forth.


The reason those lines in the conf file are uncommented is that I have no clue what I am doing. :)
Yes I did it. I will re-comment them.

What is the exact word I need to add to the debug line for usb devices.  i turned off my robot girlfriend so no problems with full disclosure.

The space l, p, s and h do for sure work. the usb cable is connected to the rpi physically.
The startup message says brltty 6.7 which is the pi version.  The desktop is running 5.6.
Also since I re-commented the text fallback line it now says screen not in text mode rather than just text.
I have a usb full 101-key keyboard hooked to the pi as well as the focus. They work fine on my desktop, but the pi does not seem to respond to the keyboard.

I can't think of anything else.  Thanks so much for your help.

You said that you'd fixed your email name. The system from which you sent that email still said that it was from "gmail" so you might want to recheck. Another possibility is that you did make the change but the former setting was cached somewhere. Maybe it'll take a restart of that system to fully update.

I'm wondering why all of those screen-parameter and privilege-parameter lines in your brltty.conf are uncommented. Is it that way as provided by the actual RPI4 package or did you have some reason for having done that.

I'm still not seeing any packeets at all being transferred between your RPI4 and your braille device. This, combined with something else you said, leads me to ask a question (see next paragraph). Could you please do two things? The first is to add the usb log category. The second is to send a copy of your /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices file. Note that this file contains a description of every sigle USB device conected to the system so, just in case you have a device you don't want to admit to, don't post that file publicly. :-)

You said that Space+h, Space+l, etc were probably working because they were from brltty on the system you were using. You added that, nevertheless, you know you were running brltty on the RPI4 because the brltty banner line contained a different version number. This is causing me to wonder just which system your braille device is connected to. It seems like it may be connected to the system you were using, rather than to the RPI4, and you may have been assuming that starting brltty on the RPI4 would just work.

Were there any other points that I've forgotten to respond to?
