The problem is autodetection of device A might disturb device B, even
if autodetection for device B is not enabled. Autodetection is hence
rather per-port: USB is safe; for serial port, if some driver for
some sensitive device was compiled, it is dangerous to attempt _any_
autodetection on the serial port.
