I've noticed that, if you say 'compy file com12:' for instance, you
get an error message about that the device is unknown, althouth the
com port shows up in the device list in the control panel. However,
doing the same with com6 gives no error message. If I do 'copy file
com12' (without colon at the end), a file called com12 is created. It
seems to me that there are a limitation in a dos box using com ports
above com8. But I don't know.
