[BRLTTY] Wrong assumptions while searching the help file!

Hi all! I would like to thank again the people developing this fantastic 
program, which is allowing me to live again!!!!!

I've noticed a problem which will not allow any person to use the program if 
the main binary file is stored in a directory if it's not a root subdirectory 
(e.g. "/usr/bin"). Infact, the program react as follows:

mrkiko at metropolis:~/src/brltty/Programs$ sudo /usr/sbin/brltty
BRLTTY 3.8dev [http://mielke.cc/brltty/]
brltty: cannot set working directory: /usr/sbin/../etc/brltty: No such file or directory
mrkiko at metropolis:~/src/brltty/Programs$

And so I will not be able to save the preference scheme in a file...
But if the executable is put into a root subdirectory:

mrkiko at metropolis:~/src/brltty/Programs$ sudo /usr/brltty
BRLTTY 3.8dev [http://mielke.cc/brltty/]
mrkiko at metropolis:~/src/brltty/Programs$

And all goes well...

Is or not this a wrong assumption?
