Hi all,
Stringent (and astringent) should use the i-n-g sign even though this
crosses a syllable boundary. In the appendix titled "Typical and Problem
Words" in the Instruction Manual for Braille Transcribing, astringent's
entry is given as:
as-trin-gent a/r+5t
(Too bad they didn't include Lucknow. :-)
Here are other examples from my Web-Braille collection:
/r+5t >e !y2 9violate !y % be4 ,if at
wd 2 "u r a /r+5t yoke1 b my he>t &
bitt} & a/r+5t4 ,x seem$ 6peel away !
didn't l ! a/r+5t ta/e (! tea4 ,bo?>i
pl1sant1 if a/r+5t4 ,sug>8 ,he d>$ n
