[BRLTTY] How to refer to a USB to serial adapter?

Hi folks,

I've been looking at both the man page and (text version of) the BRLTTY 
manual (from build 3643) and can find no reference to a USB to serial 
adapter. I'm pretty sure I've seen mention of them on this list but there's 
nothing documented. If there's a special syntax, this needs to be added 
somewhere.

And, btw, what is it? <grin>
