[BRLTTY] my computer is a stupid! brltty doesn't work any more

Ok I'm quite angry.
I formatted my pc 2 weeks ago, I reinstalled all BRLTTY packages etc etc.
I downloaded the last version compiled by samuel, I installed brlapi andh the brltty service.
no braille.
when I write:
brltty -b md -d serial:com1I obtain a fantastic "error 998! bad position memory" or something similar.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
any idea or suggestions?
I never have problem before, I don't know why today there is this nice news...
