Hi,

I saw a mention of cygdrive in this thread. Presumably this means
you're compiling under Cygwin.

To compile under Cygwin you have to use gcc version 3. To do this is
pretty complicated, but Cygwin provides a script to make gcc default
to version 3 (point something or other, but 3 is the important
number). It's probably not important for your error, if there is one,
but the script to use is:

set-gcc-default-3.sh

There are several symbolic links that must all be set simultaneously,
and this script handles all of that for you. There's also a
set-gcc-default-4.sh script for when you want version 4.

Note that I don't have Cygwin right here so can't double check those
names but if they're not exactly right then they're quite close. Look
in /bin for filenames containing gcc.
