The best kind of help for something like this is to trace the I/O which is sent 
to/from the device at driver startup. That's probably not easily done when the 
device is communicating with a mobile phone. Perhaps the user has an up-to-date 
Windows driver, though, in which case it may be possible to capture the Windows 
driver startup I/O.
