I'll look into it further. I've actually already sent a message to a contact I have who may be able to help a bit and am awaiting his response.

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your fast response. This device is identified by the Jaws screen reader as "Frank AudioData". Sorry, I really would have liked to point you to the web site which was supposed to describe this family of products, (http://www.audiodata.de), but now, this URL is redirected to the Baum web site. This is because Frank AudioData, the company who produced these devices is discontinued. Baum only maintains the already existing Frank AudioData devices but they decided to cease the production of newer devices in this product family. This is the reason why I don't know more about the AudioData BM40. I posted my request because I think this friend is probably not the only one who owns a Frank AudioData Braille display but by reading your response, I realize that the sparing of such devices seems much more confidential than I thought.

Sorry about this. Thanks very much. Have a nice day. ChD

I haven't heard of a braille device called Audio Data before. Do you know if it's known by any other names?

Dear all,

A friend of mine would like to use an AudioData BM40 Braille device with NVDA. Since these devices are now maintained by Baum, she first thought that NVDA would natively support her device but it does not.

She then tried to install BRLTTY on her windows machine but since it does not still work, she is wondering whether the AudioData BM40 is really compatible with BRLTTY or not. BTW, she does not seem to have any hardware problem with her braille display since it operates correctly with jaws screen reader.

So, if the AudioData BM40 is supported by BRLTTY, how to configure the windows machine it is plugged in please?

Many thanks in advance. Have a nice day. Christophe Delaunay
