I'm not sure how you used to do it. If you used to use "svn diff", then just 
use "git diff" instead.

For this one, I changed "begword" to "sufword" (since "cross" is a word).

If USB isn't working on Cygwin, could you please send a log which shows what's 
failing? Using -ldebug,usb,inpkts,outpkts would be good. Also, config.log might 
be helpful.

When using the diff command, my preference would be -u (rather than -c).
