If USB on Linux doesn't work, you could still try BlueTooth. If your
PC doesn't have built-in BlueTooth support then you can buy a cheap USB
BlueTooth dongle.

The last few lines from running the dmesg command might give a clue as
well. It is possible that some error prevents Linux from recognizing it
properly.
