So when you plug your Alva, a brltty is started and everything works and
you have full access to the console, right?

If that is true and you can work from there, perhaps you could try to
run your second brltty (the one for the Alizé) with the -n -e -l7 floags
so that you would have an opportunity to see what's going on. Did you
already try this?
