Andre figured out that the flashing colon was the cursor. Is there
a way to shut off the cursor in brltty? Thanks in advance.

Brltty doesn't make a special case out of colons, and I don't know what you
mean by "dots for two".

By "flashing", do you mean that a whole braille cell is changing between being
blank and showing a character, that certain dots within a braille cell are
changing between being down and up, or something else?
