[BRLTTY] BRL TTY input method On android

Hi,

I don’t think you can, unless you have a braille display with a dedicated braille keyboard that uses another protocol than the standard keyboard protocol.

Don’t know how other hardware keyboards handle typing in Arabic, but if other hardware keyboards work whereas the Mantis doesn’t, I’d file this as a bug report to aph/humanware.

Also, I thought that braille typing on the Mantis keyboard was only available in the internal editor.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. , I'm aware that the mantis works as a quarty keyboard. But the problem is that my primary language is Arabic,, and for some odd reason, my quarty keyboard doesn't work in Arabic at all. No matter how much I tried. So I was wondering, if I could use BRL TTY, to type Arabic in braille. Best regards. Mariam

You shouldn’t need the brltty input method for the Mantis, since it behaves as a regular keyboard, you can keep your input set to gboard, or whatever keyboard you use.

Hello everyone. I hope all of you are doing great and staying safe. 1st of all I just would like to say that I'm really happy with BRL TTY And the fantastic amount of features that it offers to us. But I'm facing a little bit of a problem. I recently got a mantis Q40 braill display from human wear and APh,  And it's working pretty well so far with BRL TTY via USB,  But when I said the  Input method to BRL TTY as written in the user guide, it doesn't work at all. So I'm not sure if there's something to be done or if I'm doing something wrong. Any help would really be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance. Best regards.
