The term.h header is usually part of the ncurses development package. I'm not sure which distribution you're using but the name of a development package usually has a suffix something like -dev or -devel. Check, therefore, to see if a package with a name something like ncurses-dev or ncurses-devel is available and, if so, if it's installed.
