[BRLTTY] Client BRLTTY in contracted braille mode?

Dear all,

Recently, likely after a system upgrade and although I do not think
BRLTTY has been upgraded, I am noticing that BrlAPI client applicaitons
seem to use contracted braille by default. Even BRLTTY itself when run
as a client to the root BRLTTY seems to do that. And if I try to disable
contraction braille I get something else, which may be braille that has
been contracted twice.

Has anybody else observed this?
