[BRLTTY] Linux console hacking (was: Re: Footsteps towards better accessibility in Linux)

I still experience what I had described a few months ago:

To be a bit more specific: this seems to happen for a screen session
that is run over ssh.

So basically the command is:

ssh -t my-host screen -r

And, for what it matters, that screen runs an IRC client, irssi.

In the same virtual console, when detached from screen I run mutt and
it's when I do this that IRC messages are spoken by BRLTTY's speech
driver.

Do these facts help narrowing the problem?
