Hello,
I would like to use brltty witjh framebuffer on debian sarge.
When I configured my console with the fonty utility in order to have the euro symbol on every consoles, the euro apears but brltty writes '?' (i.e. the unknown character).
I think that this problem is caused by the fact that the brltty program was loaded before the deb console initializer (i.e. console-screen.sh).
I have the two q&d solutions availables:
* load brltty after the console initializer (i.e. for debian, mv S25brltty S49brltty in the rcS.d directory). This doesn't allow a blind person to correct
some problems caused by the network mount script for example.
* Load the console initializer before brltty (i.e. for debian, mv S48console-screen S24console-screen in the rcS.d directory). This is not applicable if
the /usr or the /usr/share partition must mounted.
Forcing screen-parameter-acm=user in /etc/brltty.conf does not solve the problem, because, when the user slot is empty brltty writes the '?' character,
and, a blind person could not read the console if for some reason there are network problems for example.
A "good" solution should be to notify brltty when a console font or an acm was loaded.
I don't know if this is possible but I would like to submit my impressions.
Regards,
Daniel
