[BRLTTY] accessing ttyS0 on mandriva installer?

hello all,

First of all, good and happy new year!

Second, i must install a mdk mandriva (last version),
from the cd, and don't find how to output everything to ttyS0.
On the doc i found: at prompt type F1 to get help and now
type text, to initiate the text interface.
at this point i am stymied!
the linux howto says type console=ttyS0,
ok but nothing happen.....

(i mention that i use to work on FreeBSD, which is very easy to install:
normally the comconsole (ttyd0) is detected.
(feel free to ask if you need).

this is why i don't know mandrake.

Sure a few words would be helpfull.
