Are you running Orca in this configuration?

The screen driver is only for the screen case.  In the X environment you
need to run another screen reader, like orca, or brltty with the At-Spi
screen driver and the brlapi braille driver (but that will only let you
access text widgets and gnome terminals).

Could you please provide the exact error message?  Could you try to
build it in? (by giving --with-screen-driver=as option to ./configure)
