Rob,

Do the dots get retracted fully, showing that the display gets power? If 
not, I wonder if maybe the braille part is bad although the communications 
part responds properly. Have you ever had it working on any system? With my 
PAC Mate display the dots all go down when power is applied (before brltty 
kicks in).
