Hi Ollie:

The issue you are experiencing with Orca is more of an Ubuntu audio 
integration problem than anything else.  You might ask on the Ubuntu 
accessibility mailing list to see what people have done to get audio 
and speech working properly on Ubuntu. If you have specific Orca 
issues, please also make sure to raise them on the Orca list -- if the 
developers don't hear about problems, they might not know they exist.
