[BRLTTY] brltty hangs after startup

I'm sending a log of brltty + an strace log. I attached strace to the
running brltty, let it attached for a few seconds and detached it.

I know this revision is not the latest svn head, but it's the one I was
using and which was working like a charm till recently.
If possible I'd prefer not having to use the latest svn code since this
would make me lose a few key bindings...
