Com2. Maybe windows is returning an error because window eyes is using
the port?

BTW, since you are using window eyes, another way to go would be to
use the libusb driver, run brltty, and make windows eyes use the brlapi
driver that brltty provides for window eyes, see doc/WindowEyes.txt
