Your right, that sets up the pincode fine. However, connecting to the
display was a bit more difficult, to save me explaining what I did, here
is the explanation of someone else with very similar set up to me now:

But, basically just needed to use rfcomm connect and then -d
/dve/rfcomm0 option on brltty command line. Direct bt connection through
brltty didn't seem to work...

So, that's fine, I'll just have to make a small shell script to handle
bluetooth connection save the typing!
