Yes, it's a baum device.

Did you install BRLTTY inside your VM?  It will propose you to install a
driver for this.

Sure, qemu doesn't connect to orca, but to the host BRLTTY.

That'll be exactly what will happen, provided that you have xbrlapi
running inside your host X11 session.
