Hi,
I compiled the latest code in Mingw /Windows 7. To us e USB, in the
readme.Windows it gives the following instruction and I am halted at
installing .INF file
INSTRUCTION as GiVEN in readme.windows :
For mingw:
Down load libusb-win32 ( as a note it looks like nothing to be
installed. I did not find any .exe to install
Reference : http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/libusb-win32/wiki)
For libusb-win32:
Symlink the header and library files into MinGW installation, run:
+ ln -s "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/include/lusb0_usb.h" /mingw/include/
+ ln -s "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/lib/gcc/libusb.a" /mingw/lib/
+ ln -s "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/bin/x86/libusb0_x86.dll"
/mingw/bin/libusb0.dll
+ cp "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/bin/x86/libusb0.sys"
brltty/hotplug/libusb0.sys
+ cp "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/bin/x86/libusb0_x86.dll"
brltty/hotplug/libusb0.dll
+ cp "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/bin/amd64/libusb0.sys"
brltty/hotplug/libusb0_x64.sys
+ cp "/path/to/LibUSB-Win32/bin/amd64/libusb0.dll"
brltty/hotplug/libusb0_x64.dll
and then right-click on brltty/hotplug/brltty.inf and select install, or on
braille device plug, point at the brltty/hotplug/brltty.inf file.
ISSUES :
1. RightClicking on the .inf file just opens up in a notepad.
2. Then I used "inf-wizard.exe" as mentioned in the :
http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/libusb-win32/wik<http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/libusb-win32/wiki>
.
It gave the option to enter deviceId/ProductId; but I guess here it needs
an option to enter and .INF file name. How to get that?
3. Running the .INF, does it require any other files from
"brltty/Hotplug" directory OR is just .inf file and the renamed libsub (as
above) are sufficient.?
Can you please check what am I missing in Running brltty.inf ? The actual
device installed a Windows driver by itself when connected. Is that to
removed to run brltty?
Thanks,
SijU samuel
