[BRLTTY] could this be a bug?

hi all
Could this be a brltty bug? Braille displays plugged in after brltty has
restarted usually display "screen not in text mode" until brltty is
restarted. This only happens if you're in a graphical desktop, they work
fine if you're in the text console. Once brltty is restarted, after the
brltty startup message orca picks up on the display and it works fine. I
did try running xbrlapi to get braille input working, but all that
seemed to do was take over control of the braille display from orca, and
I kept seeing messages such as "unknown" and "panel" on the display, so
ultimately had to kill xbrlapi to get orca working with the display
again. This is with a borrowed braille sense running on sonar linux,
using brltty 5.4.
