Okay, let's have a look at the log to see if brltty is getting the keys. In order to be sure we're looking at the right part of the log, could you please ask her to wait a couple of minutes before typing and then another couple of minutes before doing anything else. Then tell us the time that she did the typing and in which timezone.

For this, perhaps -ldebug,inpkts,brlkeys would be good.
