Was it you who reported problems with an Esys a week or two ago? If so:

Which release of brltty were you using?

WJere you using serial, USB, or Bluetooth?

Were you using Linux or Windows?

That was a bug in 4.4, but it's been corrected in the development stream. So, 
again, see the three questions above.
