Another virtualization solution that has received much attention on Linux
Weekly News over the last year or two, is Xen.

As I understand it, the guest OS runs natively on the machine, under a
modified host kernel. I don't know how access to the underlying hardware is
managed or how BRLTTY would be granted permission to control devices connected
via USB or serial ports.
