BTW: Is it quite clear yet that this issue is actually usb device
dependent rather than, for instance, host controller dependent? It
just struck me that, according to your log message posted earlier, you
are using ohci-hcd, whereas I'm using uhci-hcd and haven't come across
this problem. This is on 2.6.21.5 with usb_suspend enabled connecting
either the Handytech Braille Star or the old Modular 40 using a
Prolific usb-serial converter.

Just a thought that had crossed my mind, possibly all rubbish.
