Why do you want a Mac if you don't plan to use anything but the
terminal? I'm totally mystified. I'm not just talking about iTunes;
I'm talking about Text Edit, the finder/Desktop, Text Edit, safari,
etc. etc. etc. None of these will be available with brltty, and unless
you have vision you will need voiceover.
As for drivers, yes, you do need to find and download a Mac driver for
yur usb-serial cable or install it from the cd if a driver from the
mac was on the cd that came with your cable. I'm not sure what to tell
you. the issue is far more than just whether you can get brltty going
in therminal, which you can. Btw voiceover can be set up with users
for different language and will speak in Spanish but you do have to
get voices from that language.
You say you don't need speech to run applications on your mac; does
this mean you have vision? I'm sorry; i'm wiling to try to help you
but what you are writing seems very cunfusing and I don't know where
to begin to unravel the tangle. Brltty does have speech but usually
people use brltty with a braille display of some kind; do you have this?
