A syntax is supported which almost does that. It's the baud= serial device
parameter. So, for example, if your braille device is connected to ttyS0 then
the specification for the braille device would be serial:name=ttyS0+baud=57600.
This is described in Documens/README.Devices.

Note, however, that I said "almost". While this parameter will set the initial
baud when the device is first opened, the driver still overrides this when it
probes the device. We felt, at the time, that the driver would know best when
it comes to how the device is to be operated.

May I ask why it is that you wish to slow the device down?

The driver picks the correct key table for you automatically. There's no way to
overrfide this. The key table setting in brltty.conf is for selecting the
keyboard table.

That shouldn't be happening. We'd need to see a debug log in order to try to
figure out what's going wrong. To capture a debug log, you need to add a couple
of options to your invocation of brltty. Assuming that you're using 5.0 or
later, those options would be:

   -ldebug,inpkts,outpkts,brlkeys
   -L/pth/to/logfile

If you do capture a debug log then just attach it to a message to this list so
that we can look at it.

Which release of brltty are you actually using?

>ps. If You are interested, I've my own cyrillic russian file table for Brltty.

We're always interested in new and/or updated tables. How does yours differ
from the one we currently have?
